The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office has denied reports in the media of the alleged launching of a criminal case against Secretary of Kyiv City Council Oles Dovhy and the conducting of a search of his apartment.

"Neither the Prosecutor General's Office, nor Kyiv Prosecutor's Office, nor the police have launched a criminal case against Dovhy, and, correspondingly, there has been no search," the press service of the Prosecutor General's office told Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.

Earlier, the Delo (the Case) newspaper, referring to a source from the Prosecutor General's Office, reported that Dovhy's apartment in Mykhailivsky Lane in Kyiv was allegedly searched on September 2.

According to the source, on August 30, the Prosecutor General's Office opened a criminal case against Dovhy on negligence at work and abuse of power.
