Representatives of the Euro-Patrol public movement and several volunteers from the Euro 2012 host city of Kyiv have passed an appeal to the German Embassy in Ukraine asking German Chancellor Angela Merkel not to boycott the Euro 2012 European Football Championship.

An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that the participants in a rally had called on the German prime minister to come to Ukraine during the tournament to make sure of the hospitality of Ukrainians and see how well trained the volunteers and other individuals involved in Euro 2012 are.

A representative of Euro-Patrol and a Euro 2012 volunteer were allowed into the German embassy, located on Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street in the city center, where they managed to hand over their appeal.

According to activists, the letter was signed by about 400 volunteers from various regions of Ukraine.
