Director of UEFA Euro 2012 in Ukraine Markiyan Lubkivsky says there is a problem with informing foreign fans about accommodation in Ukraine during the finals of the championship.

"We have enough rooms, but there are questions concerning reporting this information to the foreign fans, he said at the press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

Lubkivsky said that today less than 20% of the hotel rooms reserved by tourist agencies and another accommodation places were reserved in Ukrainian cities that host Euro 2012 for the period of holding of the championship.

As he said, the crisis that now is being in Europe could influence tourist flows to some extent.

The head of the Euro 2012 local organizing committee said that 80% of the fans that want to come to Ukraine are searching for the budget accommodation of the lowest category.

"It’s a common myth that Europeans want to come and will certainly live in expensive rooms," he said.

As Lubkivsky also said, today tourist operators have optimized their proposals and started to offer accommodation for a few days, but not for long terms as earlier, which will favor a reduction in prices.

Now the organizing committee of Euro 2012 in Ukraine is working in the host cities to activate the contacts with the national football federations and organizations of fans of those countries whose national teams will play in Ukraine, the UEFA Euro 2012 director reported.
