Miss World 2008 moved from Kyiv
Aug 20, 2008 at 19:27eant in Kyiv on Oct. 4 were canceled due to the conflict between Georgia and Russia. This was announced by City Council deputy head Vitaliy Zhuravskiy, whose niece Irina Zhuravska won the national Miss Ukraine 2008 contest and is to represent the country at Miss World 2008. The organizers decided to move the finals from Kyiv for the sake of safety of the contestants and all participants, and now the pageant is likely to take place in some exotic country with warm climate.
