Plan the fun for the whole family this New Year’s Eve

Finally the time has come to distract ourselves from all the troubles, at least for awhile, and dedicate our time to celebrating these most magical holidays – New Year and Christmas. You can come up with your personal celebration scenarios or just relax and have fun together with the whole city.

Especially for you, we’ve listed the best New Year’s parties in clubs, out-of-town complexes and restaurants, as well as New Year’s performances for children, traditionally held all over Kyiv starting the end of December till mid-January.


New Year’s clubbing

Arena Dance Club has prepared three programs for New Year’s Eve. The first one is the feast at the Beer House restaurant, decorated in the style of Russian fairy tales, with the soundtrack of balalaika and Russian romances. Maxym “Ledokol” Bakhmatov of Comedy Club will ensure that no one gets bored. The second program will have a massive musical program featuring Nikita and Hollywood bands, Lady Kate and Arena Show Girls. Finally at Arena Dance Club, you will enjoy a disco in R&B style with DJs Andriy Kishe, Lyopa and Filki, Karty MC, Andrew and Shked.

Freedom Concert Hall will entertain its guests with the performances by Freedom Ballet and Freedom Jazz – a new project of famed choreographer Olena Kolyadenko. Unity band will play hits of 1980s-‘90s and Ukrainian pop diva Iryna Bilyk will sing her best songs. Yuriy Gorbunov will lead the show. Cold appetizers, hot snack, a salad, a main dish, assorted fruit; cake and alcohol drinks are included in the ticket.

Restaurant, bar and casino Oasis called its New Year program “Oasis of Treasures.” The “treasures” include pop star Svitlana Loboda, comedian Ilya Noyabryov, lots of holiday dishes and prizes for the best treasure hunters. All guests will participate in the “Gold Rush” game and will search treasures in the restaurant. Starting at 3 a.m., everyone will be invited to dance to the ‘80s hits played by DJ Gooff. Guests are also welcome at the “Hangover Table” on Jan. 1.

Golden Gate Pub planned its New Year’s party as a journey around the world in a time machine through the United States, Latin America, Portugal, Africa, United Arab Emirates, France and Ukraine. Irish grilled mix or fish mix with salad as well as a bottle of champagne are included in the ticket.

Newly opened Soviet-styled club Sorry, Babushka is going to have a party in a winter fairy tale style with fir trees, Did Moroz and Snihuronka, dances till morning and special cocktails from Babushka. The highlight of the night will be karaoke contest among guests.

44 Art-Club is holding Rock’n’Bull Party featuring concerts by Check Point and Max Tavricheskiy, playing live rock’n’roll. After the gig deejay Snatch will get the disco going and won’t stop till morning. Expect cool Did Moroz and Snihuronka with mohawks on their heads. A bottle of champagne and fruits are included in the price of the ticket.

Out-of-towners

Hotel, spa and restaurant Pushcha Lesnaya proposes classical New Year menu with herring under “shuba”, Russian salad (olivye), jellied fish, stuffed ling as well as rich holiday program with retro-dances, karaoke contest, live music, entertainment for children and a pyrotechnic show. But the main reason to celebrate New Year’s out in the country is the opportunity to play snow balls, ride the sleds and skate. In case there is no snow, quadracycles, paintball or water polo in swimming pool will be a good alternative. Hot wine, fish soup and grilled pork will be served for late breakfast.

Children Theater “Na Neve” from Saint-Petersburg is bringing five of its performances to Kyiv: well known “Cinderella” and “Snow Queen,” Russian folk tales “Gusi-Lebedi” (Geese-Swans) and “Morozko” (Frosty), and “12 Months” based on Samuil Marshak’s fairy tale. Did Moroz with Snihurochka, clowns and a magician also take part in the show.

Of course the lineup couldn’t be complete without Did Moroz and his presents.

In the show “New Year’s Olympiad in Fairy Lapland” the main characters sail the ocean after their holiday in Jamaica. Suddenly magical wave pushes them towards Lapland where the main event of the year, Olympic Games, is going to start. Equilibrists, jugglers, stunt men, wizards and acrobats all take part in the Games. Among fairy tale heroes of the performance are penguins Mumble and Cody, Snow Queen, Tarzan, Aladdin and Jasmine, Kay and Gerda.

In the show “Christmas Adventures of Neznayka and the Simpsons” famous hero from Nikolay Nosov’s children’s novels, Neznayka (No-Nothing), combined his efforts with heroes of America’s iconic cartoon series to find Did Moroz’s bag with presents which was stolen by fairy thieves.

“Adventures of Toys in Computer Kingdom” is a dazzling performance and a fascinating game about Computer Monster who has stolen children's fantasies and made them stop playing toys. Arlekyn, Teddy Bear and Masha doll start on their journey to Computer Kingdom to save children’s fantasies. Little viewers will help the toys to go through three computer games and to observe three rules – be friendly, not be afraid and not to do evil. Creators of the performance tried to show that Computer Monster can also be a Genius if children knew its destination.
