The first concert of the “300 Years of British Music” series organized by the Oxford Class English School took place on Oct. 7. It was a great success and the second event is coming soon. This time, the Collegium Kyiv Chamber Orchestra conducted by Paul Henry will perform a line up aimed to reflect the development of British composer art, dating to the times of Henry Purcell (1659-1695) – the founder of English style of Baroque music. The list of musical works to be performed at the concert will include “Abdelazar” by Purcell, romance for violin “The Lark Ascending” and “Greensleeves” – both by Ralph Vaughan-Williams, Symphony No. 5 by William Boys, as well as music from the legendary film “Henry V” (1944) by William Walton and “Simple Symphony” by Benjamin Bitten.
