Buddha-Bar birthday party with DJ Ravin
Jul 15, 2010 at 22:54 | Alexandra MatoshkoA Buddha-Bar chain resident for 10 years now, Ravin has released a great number of lounge-music compilation albums under the famous brand.
Born in Mauritius, David Ravin moved to France as a teenager and eventually became the deejay at the famous Paris club, The Rex. That’s where he had the fateful encounter with Claude Challe – deejay and owner of one of Paris’s hottest nightspots – who introduced him to electronic fusion and world music.
After making several records together, Challe brought Ravin to Buddha Bar in Paris in 1997, which he managed at the time. Soon Ravin released the first two “Buddha-Bar” records in collaboration with Challe.
Becoming a Buddha-Bar resident deejay, Ravin did his best to create soulful and mesmerizing music to suit the club’s spacious acoustics and mystical atmosphere. By now Ravin has released 12 compilations, his newest being “Buddha-bar XII.”
At the upcoming birthday party, Buddha-bar and its guests will also receive musical greetings from successful Ukrainian lounge band Gorchitza Live Project.
