An exhibition of photographs “Ukrainian Stars – for Children with Down Syndrome” is a final event in a series of activities organized by the All-Ukrainian Charitable Organization “Down Syndrome” and Victor Maruschenko’s School of Photography. The exhibition will feature 18 picture stories created by two photographers, Maruschenko himself and Maryna Lytvynenko. The photo collection showcases 18 children, from six months to seven years old, born with Down syndrome. They are captured with 18 Ukrainian celebrities, including journalist Mykola Veresen, poet and founder of A-Ba-Ba-Ha-La-Ma-Ga publishing house Ivan Malkovych, TV hosts Vasylisa Frolova and Svitlana Volnova, actor Bohdan Stupka, singer Garik Krichevskiy, pop music duo Alibi, fashion designer Liliya Pustovit, football player Andriy Shevchenko, novelists and writers Yuriy and Sofia Andrukhovych, Esthetic Education band members, producer Roman Balayan, sculptor Julius Sinkevich, artist Oleksandr Roytburd, folk singer Nina Matvienko, writer Andriy Kurkov, and actress Ada Rohovtseva. The prganizers hope that the exhibition and a calendar with the same photographs will help to raise funds for educational programs for children with Down syndrome.
