‘Art-Residence:’ Paintings by homeless artists

Lavra gallery is exhibiting paintings by homeless artists at the show “Art-Residence.” This is the first exhibition of such kind to ever take place in Ukraine. All of the artists are students of artist Oleksandr Belozor who teaches at an art studio of the Christian charitable center “Stephania.” The amateur artists are people of difficult fates, some of them are simply unfortunate to be living in the street, others have rejected the system and chosen this path. Having no artistic experience, they often copy famous artists, their plots and styles, still their own visions come through in the paintings. Some of the works look impressively professional; others demonstrate powerful emotions and author’s special inner world.

Lavra (17 Mazepy, 465-9915). Oct. 30 till Nov. 8.
