Ukrainian photographer Serhiy Mykhalchuk is displaying a collection of photographs taken around the world – from Edinburgh to Paris, to Tanganyika and the Arctic.

Mykhalchuk is best known for his cinematography work. He has worked on such Ukrainian films as “Mamay” by Oles Sanin and “Las Meninas” by Ihor Podolchak as well as Russian – “Lover” and “My Step Brother Frankenstein” by Valery Todorovsky.

Mykhalchuk was born in Lutsk in 1972, studied cinematography at the Kyiv University of Theater, TV and Film and in 1996 started working as a cameraman at the Filmotechnic company – the only post-Soviet company to receive two Engineering Academy awards.

Having been a painter and graphic artist in the past, Mykhalchuk now works in advertising and on television, and shoots music videos.

His photography is characteristic of rich cinematic aesthetics as well as being deeply meaningful – his works seem to reflect on the place of humans in the world and universe.
