Legendary band Whitesnake, playing solid bluesy rock, is coming to Kyiv with their latest world tour “Good to be Bad.” Officially Whitesnake was founded by former Deep Purple vocalist David Coverdale in 1977. He toured for the solo album he released between exiting Deep Purple and founding Whitesnake— “White Snake” (1977) and in the late ‘70s, Whitesnake's first albums were fairly popular in Europe and Japan. Later Coverdale re-emerged with a new version of Whitesnake in 1984, making the band sound more energetic by mixing Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple’s old tricks. Three years later, Whitesnake released an eponymous album which was even better. It was an enormous international success, selling over six million copies in the United States alone. In 1993, he released a collaboration album with former Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page. Together with guitarist Adrian Vandenberg Coverdale released the album “Restless Heart.” But soon Whitesnake fell apart again and was renewed only in 2002 with new band members, still fronted by Coverdale of course. Their latest album “Good to be Bad” was released in April 2008, reaching the No. 5 position on the U.K. album charts. The band co-headlined a U.K. tour with Def Leppard this summer. And this November Whitesnake received the “Best Album” prize from the Classic Rock Awards for “Good To Be Bad.”
