Stalker Fest 2009

Obsessive gamers and music fans will gather on Maidan to celebrate the launch of the game “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat” with the massive S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Fest. The game of Russian-Ukrainian produce will become the third installment of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, loosely based on a science fiction novel, “The Roadside Picnic” by Russian writer duo Strugatsky Brothers. The festival site will include a unique stage styled as the 4th Energy Block of the Chornobyl Atomic Power Plant, and special zones for “laser fights,” stuntmen and a light show. And you don't need to be a gamer to enjoy the evening concert featuring some great bands: Vopli Vidoplyasova, Boombox, S.K.A.Y., Tartak, Skryabin and Firelake.

Maidan, Oct. 3. Noon till 10 p.m. Free admission.
