Fans of elegant and passionate Argentinean tango should not miss the upcoming “Argentinean Tango Stars” performance at the Officers House. The playbill will feature instrumental and vocal tango performances, waltzes and milongas (tango dance performances) of different kinds – original Argentinean, tango Nuevo and popular Russian tango. The stars of the show are the celebrated Argentinean tango pair Silvio Grand and Mayra Galante. People know Grand and Galante as the soloists of the internationally acclaimed shows “Esquine Carlos Gardel,” “Solo Tano, El Show” and “Copes Tango Show,” and as frequent participants of the biggest tango festivals in the world. Soledad Orquestra from Moscow – Russia’s best tango orchestra – founded in 2001, will provide the instrumental part of the show. A highly professional musical band with a rich repertoire, Soleadad Orquestra is also the only tango band in Russia which accompanied the world’s main stars of Argentinean tango such as Sebastian Arce and Marianna Montes, Julio Balmaceda and Corina De La Rosa among others, plus it’s the official tango orchestra of big international festivals: Turkish “El Tangon 2009,” “Milonguero Nights 2008 and 2009” in Moscow, “Velvet Tango” in Koktebel and “Tango de Buenos Aires 2009” in Riga, Yurmala. Since 2008, the orchestra has featured a bandoneon – a kind of concertina that is an essential part of any tango orchestra in Argentina.
Finally, performing vocal tango is Olga Pankratova known for her beautiful and sensual voice. She’s a soloist of Song and Dance Ensemble of Russia, and regular concert performer at the presidential summits and government meetings between Russia and Ukraine.
