Kyiv, March 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – There are currently no requests from Ukrainian citizens in Japan for evacuation, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov has said.

"We currently have no requests from Ukrainian citizens to the embassy to evacuate them. If such requests are submitted, they will be dealt with," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on March 29.

In addition, Dykusarov noted that "In general, we estimate the social situation as more or less stable, which causes no concern, including for our citizens who are there."

He noted that there were about 1,500 Ukrainians in Japan.

He also said that 190 Ukrainians had been evacuated from the country since the March 11 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear plant disaster.
