Youth exchange programs between Canada and Ukraine from April 4 will be subject to simplified procedures, spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleksandr Dykusarov has said.

"From April 4 a memorandum of mutual understanding between the governments of Ukraine and Canada on youth exchanges comes into effect. The memorandum will ensure there are simplified procedures for young Ukrainian citizens to obtain the right to travel, study and work in Canada for a period of up to one year," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

According to him, categories of citizens who can participate in exchange programs are graduating students who want to get work experience, or students who want to study a part of an educational program in Canada under a earlier concluded contract, as well as those who wish to travel around the country and temporally work there.

According to Dykusarov, 200 people from each country can make use of the advantages provided under the memorandum.

"These quotas will be reviewed every year in the future, depending on the number of submitted applications," he said.
