You're reading: Ukraine to invest about Hr 38.5 billion in development of space activity by 2032

The Ukrainian government has approved a plan for the realization of state policy in the sphere of space activity for the period up to 2032.

This is stipulated in cabinet resolution No. 2032-r of March 30.

The main directions of the plan include: supporting the development of space technologies and their integration with the real sector of economy and the sphere of national security and defense; acquiring new knowledge, raising the scientific and technical potential of the state and the education level of its citizens; improving space and rocket hardware and technologies for creating it; realizing efficient industrial policy and modernization of production; supporting the commercialization of space activity; and deepening international cooperation in the sphere of space activity.

As expected, the realization of the plan will ensure the development of priority cooperation with Russia, the countries of the European Union, Japan, China, India, Brazil, Kazakhstan and other countries interested in gaining information services, including the regional markets of countries in Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia.

The realization of the plan is to be carried out in four stages: 2011-2017, 2018-2022, 2023-2027, and 2028-2032.

The approximate amount of financing of events to realize the plan is estimated at Hr 38.5 billion.

The State Space Agency of Ukraine was ordered to draw up and submit a project on the realization of the plan.
