Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has established a state agency for tourism and resorts, which will be responsible for the realization of state policy in these spheres.

This is stipulated in presidential decree No. 370/2011 of April 6, 2011.

According to the decree, the activity of the state agency is coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers via the vice premier and infrastructure minister of Ukraine.

At the same time, only on Wednesday the cabinet released resolution No. 346 of March 28 on the closure of governmental agencies, which included the state service for tourism and resorts.

The resolution was adopted to fulfill presidential decree No. 1085 of Dec. 9, 2010 on the optimization of the system of central executive government agencies.

The government under its resolution No.2334-r of Dec. 29, 2010 dismissed Anatoliy Pakhlia as head of the state service for tourism and resorts.

At that time the press service of the department told Interfax-Ukraine that the department was at the stage of liquidation due to the reform of central executive agencies.
