Ukrainian-Polish economic and trade relations are developing successfully, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

"Today we would like to note that owing to the joint work of the two governments, last year was successful for our countries in terms of trade and economic relations," he said at a meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Kyiv on Wednesday.

Yanukovych said that the growth in trade between the two countries, as well as economic growth in Ukraine and Poland, "gives good prospects for the near future."

Tusk, in turn, confirmed the "good development of economic relations."

"Ukraine is now recovering from a hard period, and that’s a great source for optimism," he said.
