Ukraine still hopes to complete the talks on a free trade zone with the European Union until the end of this year, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

"Some progress (in the talks with the EU) has already been made, and we are planning our work in such a way as to complete this complicated process of the negotiations in a compromise this year," he said at a joint press conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Kyiv on Wednesday.

In turn, Tusk once again confirmed Poland’s intention to assist Ukraine during its presidency of the European Parliament.
