Vinnytsia, April 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The actions taken by Ukraine's former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko in the signing of gas contracts with Russia in 2009 posed a threat to the Ukrainian economy, Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka said.

"A criminal case has been opened against former prime minister Tymoshenko for abuse of office. She unilaterally made a decision posing an economic state, which did not benefit the state… We are talking about economic security here," Pshonka said at a press conference in Vinnytsia region.

Oleh Dubyna, former CEO of Naftogaz Ukrainy, has given evidence about the circumstances of the signing of the contract in 2009, he said.
