You're reading: Cabinet creates commission to provide stable prices of socially important goods

The Ukrainian cabinet has created an interagency commission for the provision of stable prices for key, socially important goods and services.

According to cabinet resolution No. 421 of April 6, 2011, the commission, headed by First Vice Premier and Economic Development and Trade Minister Andriy Kliuyev, includes representatives of nine ministries, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) and other state organizations.

The government agreed that the key tasks of the commission are to coordinate and increase the effectiveness of the activity of the central and local executive power bodies with the aim of achieving price stability in the country, not allowing unjustifiable increases in prices of the key, socially important goods and services, and improving Ukraine’s legislation to achieve stable prices in the country.

The resolution says that the commission, in particular, is to discuss proposals on the stabilization of prices on the fuel market.

The commission is to hold meetings not less than once a month.
