You're reading: Ukrainian government names days off in view of Easter, May Day and Victory Day

Ukraine's citizens will have days off on April 23-25 due to Easter holidays, April 30 through May 3 due to the celebration of the International Workers' Day, and on May 7-9 due to the Victory Day, the government's press service told Interfax-Ukraine.

There have been no special resolutions announcing the working schedule for these days, the press service said.

According to Ukraine’s law on labor, if an official holiday falls on a weekend, the next working day becomes a day off, the press service added.

Thus, since Easter is observed on Sunday, April 24, the Easter Monday, April 25 will be a day off.

Since May 1 falls on Sunday, and May 2 is also an official holiday, Tuesday, May 3, will be a day off too.

The Victory Day falls on Monday this year. So Ukrainians will rest May 7 through May 9.
