You're reading: Seven more Ukrainians evacuated from Libya

Seven more Ukrainian citizens have been evacuated from Libya and sent to the Libyan-Tunisian border, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oleksandr Dykusarov has told Interfax-Ukraine.

Three Ukrainians on April 27 went from Tripoli to the Libyan-Tunisian border, and four more Ukrainians, who were evacuated from the city of Nalut, where military operations are continuing, joined them in the city of Ben Gardan.

The foreign diplomatic missions and consular offices of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s office in Boryspil Airport provided assistance in the sending, transit and arrival in Kyiv of the evacuees on the Libya-Tunisia-Istanbul-Kyiv route.

Dykusarov also said that the body of a Ukrainian killed in a mortar attack in the city of Misrata on April 20 had arrived at the airport on Thursday. The coffin has been sent to the relatives of the deceased.

According to the Ukrainian Embassy in Libya, as of April 21, it was planned to evacuate 26 Ukrainians (including ten of them from Nalut), and on April 26 their number decreased.

The total number of Ukrainian citizens evacuated from Libya as of April 28 is 611 people.
