You're reading: Yanukovych promises increase in childcare assistance

Novi Petrivtsi, Kyiv region, May 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The amount of financial assistance paid on the birth or adoption of children is to grow from year to year, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

"Family policy is aimed at ensuring that each family receives assistance on the birth or on the adoption of a child. And this aid will be growing from year to year," he told reporters during a visit to the Liubystok orphanage in the village of Novi Petrivtsi, Kyiv region, on Friday.

The president also said that conditions should be created in the country for each family wishing to adopt a child to be able do it without difficulty.

According to Yanukovych, Ukraine has a program aimed at improving the living conditions of children in orphanages.
