Ukraine will end the current year with a deficit-free budget, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has forecast.

"We adopted a budgeted deficit of 3.5% this year. But today, from the [budget] dynamics, we can see it reducing, so we will close the year with a deficit-free budget. This is a one hundred percent guarantee," the presidential press service cited Yanukovych as saying on Tuesday.

The president also noted that in 2010 the government managed to cut the deficit of the state budget from 15% to 5%. In addition, the president again drew attention to the problem of reducing the deficit of the Pension fund: "We’re reducing the deficit of the Pension fund to 12% monthly."

The president is on a visit to Mykolaiv region.
