Moscow, May 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Progress in the Transdniestrian settlement may be achieved with the incumbent authorities of the unrecognized republic, Ukrainian Ambassador to Russia Volodymyr Yelchenko told Interfax-Ukraine.

"As for the possibility to settle the problem while the incumbent administration holds the office, I think there are no unsolvable problems. It is important to make decisions which would satisfy the conflicting parties within the consultations in the 5+2 format," he said.

Earlier reports said that Russia had recommended Transdniestrian invariable leader Igor Smirnov not to run for another term of office in the presidential election due this December.
