You're reading: EU commissioner for home affairs to visit Ukraine

EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Cecilia Malmstrom will visit Ukraine on June 15-16, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov said at a briefing on Wednesday.

The EU commissioner will meet with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, First Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Coordinating Center for the Implementation of the Action Plan to Facilitate the Visa Regime with the EU Andriy Kliuyev, and Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko.

The main subject of the visit will be a discussion of progress in the implementation by Ukraine of the action plan to facilitate the visa regime with the EU, which was granted to the country last November.

On June 16, the EU delegation headed by Malmstrom is planning to participate in an EU-Ukraine ministerial meeting on investment, freedom and security.
