Veronika Abu Sisi, the wife of Palestinian Dirar Abu Sisi who was kidnapped in Ukraine, has lodged a lawsuit at the Supreme Administrative Court against Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and accused the Ukrainian government of concluding commercial agreements with Israel, according to the Ukrainska Pravda Internet publication.

She demanded that the court "recognize that the president took no measures regarding the disappearance of Dirar Abu Sisi from Ukrainian territory on February 18-19 and his transportation to Israel, in violation of the constitution, current legislation and the principles of international law."

Veronika Abu Sisi in her claim called on the court to oblige the president to order the Security Service of Ukraine, the Interior Ministry, the State Border Service and the Prosecutor General’s Office to render the information and video materials they have regarding the disappearance of her husband.

In addition, Veronika Abu Sisi asked the court to oblige the Interior Ministry to submit a note of protest to the Israeli Embassy in Ukraine, taking into account the "gross violation of Ukraine’s legislation and regulations of international law that was committed due to the illegal detention of Dirar Abu Sisi on Ukrainian territory, his arrest and transportation to Israel."

At the same time, she demanded that Yanukovych order the law enforcers and other agencies to send a request to Israel to return her husband to Ukraine.

Veronika Abu Sisi also said she was confident that Ukraine had exchanged her husband for bilateral commercial agreements with Israel.

It was reported earlier that Abu Sisi, director of a power plant in the Gaza Strip, boarded a Kharkiv-Kyiv train on February 18. The Palestinian interior ministry sent an official inquiry into the disappearance of Abu Sisi to Ukraine’s interior minister on February 25. Abu-Sisi is married to a Ukrainian and has six children. He spent 12 years in Gaza and tried to get Ukraine’s citizenship.

A number of media reported on March 10 that Abu Sisi is in an Israeli prison. Israeli authorities officially confirmed this report on March 21.

German magazine Der Spiegel said Israeli authorities were trying to obtain from Abu Sisi information on Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit abducted by Hamas in 2006.

According to reports in the Israeli media, Israeli prosecutors sent the information in the case against Palestinian engineer Abu Sisi to a court in Beersheba. Abu Sisi is accused of being a Hamas member and involved in weapons production.
