You're reading: Lao foreign minister arrives to Ukraine

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith will make an official visit to Ukraine June 30 through July 3, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oleksandr Dykusarov has said.

He said that during his visit, Sisoulith would meet with Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister and Economic Development and Trade Minister Andriy Kliuyev, Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko and President of the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Anatoliy Kinakh.

The foreign ministers of Ukraine and Laos are expected to sign a protocol on consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries, which foresees the holding of regular meetings between the leadership of the ministries, consultations on urgent bilateral and international issues, as well as the issue of improving the mechanism for monitoring the implementation of the agreements reached by the two sides.

Dykusarov also said that this was the first visit by a high-ranking Lao official to Ukraine in the history of bilateral relations, which is designed to significantly step up Ukrainian-Lao cooperation in various areas, in particular, in the trade and economic sector.
