The budget of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry will lose about Hr 500 million per year due to the cancellation of the mandatory technical inspection of passenger vehicles, Interior Minister Anatoliy Mohyliov has said.
"We will lose the approximately half a billion hryvnias that the traffic police received from technical inspections," he told journalists in Kyiv on Wednesday.
At the same time, Mohyliov said he was confident that funds would be allocated from the state budget to compensate for this loss.
On July 5, the Verkhovna Rada cancelled the mandatory technical inspection of passenger cars that are not used for commercial purposes.
The law comes into force 30 days after its publication.
