Donetsk Administrative Court of Appeals has cancelled Makiyivka City Council's decision to liquidate three Ukrainian language schools.

An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that the court issued the ruling on Wednesday.

The court cancelled a resolution by the Central City District Court of Makiyivka of June 2, 2011 upholding the city’s council decision of March 25, 2011 on the liquidation of three Ukrainian language schools, Nos. 3, 27 and 100.

None of the three sessions of the Administrative Court of Appeals on this issue was attended by Makiyivka officials.

Earlier, residents of Makiyivka protested against the closure of the schools.
