Ukrainian peacekeepers have transported excess weapons and equipment from the territory of the Camp Bondsteel, the press service of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine reported on Monday.

According to the press service, this was done due to the general stabilization of the situation in Kosovo and the further transfer to the second and third stages of the KFOR operation.

The commander of the national contingent, Lieutenant Colonel Oleh Zubovsky, said that the transportations were carried out on the instructions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which gave permission to transport the weapons and equipment of the national peacekeeping contingent of the 15th rotation through an aviation checkpoint.

According to Zubovsky, about 10 tonnes of equipment of the Ukrainian peacekeeping contingent were transported over three days from the Camp Bondsteel. An-26 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force transported the military equipment to Ukraine.

Zubovsky said that oil, along with spares for weapons and military equipment for the Ukrainian peacekeeping detachment, were delivered to Kosovo by the same plane.
