You're reading: Cabinet to consider safety at mines at next cabinet meeting

The issue of safety at coalmines in Ukraine will be considered at the next cabinet meeting, Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov has said, opening a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

"I appoint the discussion at the cabinet meeting to be held next Wednesday," he said.

He demanded from Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Boiko to rigidly approach to the assessment of the state of mines and defining of responsibility for safety of people.

The premier said that recent accidents at mines confirm the necessity to strictly assess the state of affairs with industrial safety in the country.
