The chief pediatric infectious disease specialist of the Ukrainian Health Ministry, Serhiy Kramariov, has recommended that Ukrainians vaccinate themselves against flu, even far in advance of the season.

"Now is the time when it’s possible and necessary to vaccinate against flu," he said at the press conference in Kyiv.

The doctor reported that flu vaccine has already been brought to Ukraine and now is being examined, and it will be on sale in chemist’s shops soon.

In addition, vaccines for children have already started to be delivered to the regions, and soon all regions will have stocks of vaccines for whooping cough, diphtheria, tuberculosis, poliomyelitis, rubella and measles, the deputy director of the department on maternity, childhood and sanatorium provision of the Ukrainian Health Ministry, Olena Tereschenko, reported at the press conference.
