The Verkhovna Rada has passed at first reading a presidential draft law on decriminalizing certain violations of the law in the sphere of economic activity.

A total of 278 out of the 395 MPs registered in the hall on Thursday voted for passing the bill introducing amendments to certain laws.

The bill proposes replacing punishment in the form of imprisonment for fines for people who commit ее d certain economic crime s.

According to the bill, a penalty may be replaced by other form of punishment by court, only if a person fails to pay the fine within the period prescribed by court.
