Brussels, Oct.12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The European Parliament will hold a special debate on Ukraine. MEPs insist on the participation of EU High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission Catherine Ashton.
The European Parliament changed on Tuesday the agenda of its Wednesday’s plenary meeting in connection with the conviction of Ukraine’s former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, Interfax-Ukraine learned on Wednesday at the European Parliament.
It is expected that discussion will take place immediately after the debate on the situation in Bahrain and Yemen, which is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
The office of the EU High Representative told the agency that Ashton plans to participate in the plenary session, but it is still unknown whether she will participate in the discussion on Ukraine.
In addition, a resolution on Ukraine will be put on the agenda of the next plenary meeting which will be held in Strasbourg.
