Two agreements have been drafted as part of the work to draw up accords regulating the Russian Black Sea Fleet's stable operation in Crimea, Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov said in Kyiv on Wednesday after talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Mykhailo Yezhel.

"We would like the work to draft the agreements on the Black Sea Fleet to run faster," Serdyukov said.

"Some issues still remain unsettled, including the replacement of the ageing weapons and military hardware with new," he said.

"We do not plan to increase the number of warships, but we will replace them with new ones within the limits set," the Russian defense minister said.

Serdyukov congratulated Yezhel on his 59th birthday.
