The 2012 Ukrainian university entrance campaign will last one day less and will be held from July 2-31 because of the holding of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship in Ukraine, Education and Science, Youth and Sports Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk has said.

"Due to Euro 2012, the entrance campaign will last one day less," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.

The minister said the Justice Ministry has registered new rules for entrance to universities.

Now students can submit certificates for any year during the entrance campaign.

State-funded students will be taken in until Aug. 11 and those who pay for their studies themselves will be taken in until Aug. 25.

Tabachnyk said that 124 points remains the lowest passing mark, but the mark should not be lower than 140 points for the specific subject a student wishes to major in.
