The European integration and modernization are the priorities of Ukraine's policies, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.
"Last week we all received an important message from the European Union. The European Parliament in its resolution reaffirmed the willingness of further profound cooperation with Ukraine and its historical chance to become an integral part of the European Union," he said in Kyiv on Tuesday at the international municipal hearings dubbed "The development of proper governance at local and regional levels."
According to the president, this opportunity will be realized only if the reforms in the country and its modernization are successful.
"I want to repeat: the policy of modernization and European integration are crucial for Ukraine," the president said.
