Kyiv has called on the parties to the conflict in Egypt to refrain from violence and advised Ukrainian citizens not to visit Cairo, Alexandria and Suez.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov said at a briefing on Tuesday that Ukraine was monitoring the situation in Egypt and was concerned about the current confrontation in this country.

"We urge all parties to exercise maximum restraint and avoid violence," Dykusarov said.

He noted that Kyiv believes that the only way to solve the problem is through dialog between the conflicting parties. He also added that Ukrainian citizens were not injured as a result of protests in Egypt.

"The recommendation not to travel to Cairo, Alexandria and Suez currently remains unchanged," he said.
