Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has left on a state visit to Israel, the president's Web site reported on Wednesday.
During the visit, Yanukovych is scheduled to meet with Israeli President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Patriarch Theophilus III of Jerusalem.
A number of bilateral documents are expected to be signed.
President Yanukovych will also pay his respects to Holocaust victims at the Yad Vashem Memorial Complex
