Petro Pylypchuk has been elected head of the Supreme Court of Ukraine.

About 40 judges had voted for his nomination by secret ballot, and six judges had voted against him. One ballot was declared invalid.

The five-year term of Head of the Supreme Court of Ukraine Vasyl Onopenko expired on Sept. 29.
