You're reading: Ukraine hopes to initial association agreement with EU in first quarter of 2012

The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine hopes that the association agreement with the European Union will be initialed in the first quarter of 2012.

"The text will be ready for initialing by around mid-February," the director of the Foreign Ministry’s information policy department, Oleh Voloshyn, said at a briefing on Tuesday.

He recalled that the parties had already announced the completion of the talks on the agreement and Kyiv expected that the document would be initialed in the first quarter of 2012.

According to Voloshyn, Ukraine hopes to sign the association agreement with the EU by the end of next year.
