Two icebreakers will depart from the Kavkaz port on Monday to bring food and water to the crews of ice-trapped vessels offshore Temryuk in the Sea of Azov, the southern regional center of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry said.

Also, it was planned to send a Mil Mi-8 helicopter on a similar mission.

The Azovsky Veter ship with four Ukrainian citizens, two Georgian citizens, two Turkish citizens and six Azeri citizens aboard has a one-day food reserve.

The same problem has been encountered by the St. Nicholas ship with eight Russians and seven Ukrainians aboard.

In all, 96 vessels are staying by the Russian border in the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea, and two of them are almost out of food and water.

The waters are icebound due to abnormal frosts.
