Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has instructed Prime Minister Mykola Azarov to decide on a candidate for the post of deputy premier responsible for working with the European Union.

"Given Ukraine’s experience of work with the European Union, we know that this work requires special attention, so please, together with the deputy prime ministers, work on this issue and make the relevant proposals," Yanukovych told Azarov at a meeting of the Council of Regions in Kyiv on Tuesday.

The president noted that earlier former First Deputy Prime Minister Andriy Kliuyev was unofficially in charge of this issue.
