Dnipropetrovsk – Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said that in addition to Yuriy Kolobov, there are two more candidates for the post of Ukraine's finance minister.

"Kolobov is not the principal contender," the president said. He said he would decide on the new finance minister soon.

As reported, Regions Party Leader Oleksandr Yefremov said on Thursday that Yuriy Kolobov was to be appointed finance minister. No decree to that effect has been posted on the president’s Web site.

Kolobov was appointed deputy governor of the NBU in April 2011, and was promoted to first deputy in November 2010. Prior to this he worked in Ukreximbank, was chairman of the board of BTA Bank, and treasury director at Oschadbank.
