Ukraine is ready to finance the treatment of children in Cuba, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said at a meeting with Vice President of Cuba's Council of Ministers Marino Murillo.
"I want to stress that Cuba is the only country that is so concerned about Ukrainian children. I would like to inform you that we are ready to assume the funding of the treatment of our children," the government’s press service quoted Azarov as saying on Tuesday.
He thanked the Cuban side for the treatment of 18,000 Ukrainian children affected by the Chornobyl disaster.
Azarov reiterated Ukraine’s interest in continuing the recovery and treatment of children.
In addition, the parties stressed their mutual interest in developing cooperation in the health sector.
