Kyiv, March 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Poland has agreed to cancel for Ukrainians the payment for issuing long-term visas, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko has said.

"There’s some good news. Poland has basically accepted our initiative to cancel the payment of EUR 20 for their national long-term [D-type] visas," Hryschenko wrote on his Twitter page on Saturday.

He said that over 200,000 visas of this kind worth over EUR 4 million were issued in 2011.

"These funds will now remain in the budgets of Ukrainian families," Hryschenko said.

"Now we will launch a respective procedure in order to sign a bilateral agreement on this issue," he said.
