Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said that a comprehensive program on the presentation of personality ofUkrainiannational bardTaras Shevchenko both in Ukraine and abroad should be drawn up.
Speaking at a meeting devoted to the 198 anniversary of Taras Shevchenko’s birth in Kanev on Friday, Yanukovych said that during the preparations for the Shevchenko’s anniversary in 2014 “we should think about Year of Shevchenko in Ukraine and in the world.”
The head of state also pointed out that repair and reconstruction should be carried out in the Shevchenko museum in Kyiv.
Yanukovych said that there are over 100 Shevchenko museums in Ukraine and over ten museums in the world.
He said that business should be involved in the project, as such a complicated task cannot be solved using only budget funds.
“We won’t be able to realize the task using only budget funds. This means that today we should think of active involvement of business in our plans. I hope they heard me,” he said.
