"Representatives of Ukrainian mass media found themeselves in the center of a demonstration of Palestinian citizens, who were demanding their own state and the return the lands annexed by Israel. The Palestinians shouted anti-Israeli slogans and started to throw stones at Israeli policemen, who in turn started to shoot rubber bullets and smoke bombs. A rubber bullet injured the reporter of Weekly.ua Tetiana Omelchenko under knee on the right leg," the magazine read.

Palestinian doctors rendered her the necessary aid. Omelchenko is now in Kyiv.

Omelchenko covers foreign policy topics in the Weekly.ua magazine. A press tour of Ukrainian journalists to Palestine was organized by the Palestinian embassy. The Ukrainian reporters visited Ramallah, Bethlehem, Nablus and Jerusalem, where they met with high-ranking officials of Palestine.
